Police say a 58-year-old man who was found dead in what appeared to be a wreck this weekend in west Charlotte was the victim of a homicide.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police were called to the 1000 block of Little Rock Road about 8:50 p.m. Saturday about a disturbance. Officers found what appeared to be a wreck between a truck and a motorcycle in the front yard of a home.
Jimmy Tilley, who was on the motorcycle, was dead when police arrived. On Monday, CMPD said detectives had launched a homicide investigation. The department hasn't said how Tilley died.
His death marks the 92nd homicide reported by CMPD in 2019.
