FBI Asks For Help In Finding 'Bad Wig Bandit'

The same man is suspected to have robbed three different banks in the last three weeks wearing different wigs.

The FBI is asking for help in finding a bank robber they have dubbed the “Bad Wig Bandit.” The same suspect is believed to have robbed three banks in the Charlotte metro area in the last three weeks – each time wearing a different wig.

The FBI released three surveillance photos of the suspect from robberies at a BB&T Bank in Huntersville, a New Horizon Bank in Belmont and a Wells Fargo Bank in Gastonia. In Huntersville, his hair is a blonde bob; in Belmont it is long, bright red; and in Gastonia the hair is curly and dark.

The suspect first robbed a BB&T Bank at 16710 Northcross Dr. in Huntersville on Dec. 13, where he received an undisclosed amount of money.

The same suspect robbed the New Horizon Bank at 6440 Wilkinson Blvd. in Belmont on Wednesday. About five hours later, the same suspect robbed the Wells Fargo Bank at 403 Cox Rd. in Gastonia.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the local FBI Office, or to submit a tip at tips.fbi.gov.
