Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of East Sugar Creek Road just after 6:30 Sunday morning.
On arrival, CMPD officers found a person with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Homicide detectives conducted an investigation at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
