The city of Charlotte is preparing for a visit from President Trump, who’s scheduled to hold a rally at the Bojangles’ Coliseum Friday evening.

Previously, Trump has held fundraisers and an executive order signing in the city. This will be his first rally in Charlotte since becoming president.

Drivers traveling on roadways between Charlotte Douglas International Airport and Bojangles’ Coliseum “should prepare for traffic and delays” related to the rally, the City of Charlotte said in a statement.

According to the city, some major thoroughfares will be closed completely for short periods of time during the afternoon commute and parts of the evening. The rally will begin at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 4 p.m.

Joining the president tomorrow will be Republican candidate Mark Harris, who’s locked in a tight race for Congress against local Democrat Dan McCready in the 9th district — which stretches from south Charlotte to Fayetteville.
