CMPD Chief Jennings Tests Positive For COVID-19

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said he has tested positive for COVID-19.

Jennings tweeted that he quarantined at home after he suspected he had been exposed to the virus.

WSOC reported that Jennings, Judge Elizabeth Trosch and District Attorney Spencer Merriweather flew to Wilmington on Dec. 2 to visit a site concerning an initiative involving the impact of childhood exposure to violence and Adverse Childhood Experiences.

Trosch experienced COVID-19 symptoms one day later, and tested positive for the coronavirus the following day, according to WSOC.

Jennings said that outside of light fatigue, he is symptom free and that citizens should not worry about any CMPD interruptions.
