A bus driver and 14 students had minor injuries Tuesday morning when a Charlotte Mecklenburg school bus went off the road and nearly struck a house in east Charlotte.

Medic reported that all 15 patients had non-life threatening injuries when the bus went down an embankment toward the house on Briardale Drive, at Brook Canyon Drive. That's off East W.T. Harris Boulevard.

The injured included the driver, who was briefly trapped in the bus. CMS said the bus was headed to Randolph IB Middle School with a total of 22 students on board.

Authorities say the bus went off the road and hit a parked car before continuing down the hill, hitting a house.

Nobody in the house was hurt, but a deck was damaged.
