North Carolina will be joining a program that seeks to improve cybersecurity.
Gov. Roy Cooper said in a press release Wednesday that the state will be working with a team of experts from across the country to help North Carolina prepare for cyber threats and improve on the state’s existing cybersecurity infrastructure. The experts will work with the state’s department of public safety and department of information technology.
“Protecting North Carolina’s data, information and infrastructure is critical, and our state cybersecurity professionals work hard to guard against the latest threats,” Cooper said. “Working with a team of experts from across the country can help make our cybersecurity efforts even more robust.”
Only three other states are enrolled in the program hosted by the National Governors Association. They are Indiana, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
