Charlotte city council Monday night will again take up the possibility of switching from two-year to four-year terms. It’s on the agenda for a strategy session beginning at 5 p.m.
At last week’s retreat, the council brought in a consultant who, according to WSOC-TV said four-year staggered terms are the best practice for a city Charlotte's size.
A number of city council members have pushed for the change. A poll in November found Charlotteans overwhelmingly oppose making the switch to four-year terms.

During this evening’s session, the council will also get an update on the upcoming NBA All-Star game.
