Police say they’re investigating a fatal shooting late Monday night in west Charlotte.
Someone called 911 just after 8 p.m. to report an assault in the 3200 block of Rozelles Ferry Road, near Brookshire Freeway. There, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police found a female gunshot victim in a parking lot. She was taken to a hospital but died.
CMPD hasn’t yet released the identity of the victim or provided her age.
No other information about the shooting was immediately available.
The death marks the 11th homicide reported in Charlotte this year, and it comes less than two days after two people were killed in separate shootings in the southwestern part of the city.
Those shootings – outside an apartment on Deanna Lane and in the parking lot of The Trap bar on Westinghouse Boulevard – early Sunday claimed the lives of Ramon Antonio Alvarado-Cubas and James John Basil McKnight.
CMPD is asking anyone with information on the case to call 704-432-8477.
