UNC Charlotte evacuated three buildings Friday morning for about an hour after a natural gas leak was reported at the Science Building construction site.
The construction site, Hickory, Sycamore and Cedar halls all were evacuated out of caution, and roadways surrounding the site are blocked off as Charlotte Fire Department and UNCC officials assessed the situation.

UNCC issued an "all clear" tweet about an hour later and said the gas valve for the line had been turned off.
The school said in a statement that a lingering odor might still be in the vicinity of the construction site as the line is repaired, but no gas is flowing and there is no danger to campus.
