Get ready for an unforgettable theatre experience full of immense compassion and keen insight. Three Bone Theatre proudly presents the North Carolina Premiere of the Broadway sensation from 2021: Thoughts of a Colored Man by Keenan Scott II.
Thoughts of a Colored Man features a slice of life in rapidly gentrifying Brooklyn through seven Black men’s remarkable stories. Woven together with spoken word these men share their dreams, struggles, and triumphs in a world that often refuses to listen to them.
Directed by Sidney Horton, and featuring a talented ensemble of Charlotte actors – you won’t want to miss the show critics are calling “the most important play of the 21st century.”
Thoughts of a Colored Man contains strong adult language, adult themes around race, and descriptions and depictions of anti-Black sentiments and violence. Recommend for ages 16+.
Run Time: 90 minutes, no intermission

The Wings for Life World Run is a truly unique and global race for both runners and wheelchair participants. Instead of a finish line, competitors race side by side to keep ahead of the Virtual Catcher Car. Now in its eleventh year, on May 5, 2024 Wings for Life World Run participants in United States can also run together in Charlotte. Meet up with your friends, download the Wings for Life World Run App and join all the other people running until the Virtual Catcher Car catches you of course. The race starts at exactly 7:00:00 AM. The Virtual Catcher Car takes off 30 minutes after the start at 14 km/h and steadily increases its speed until the last athletes have been caught. 100% of all donations and the entry fees go directly into spinal cord research projects.

On this program, rising star Edson Scheid, violin plays music by the legendary Italian virtuoso violinist Nicolò Paganini, as well as works by musicians who were influenced by him, including H. W. Ernst, who was considered by many in the mid-19th Century to be the “next Paganini,” and Flausino Vale, nicknamed the “Brazilian Paganini.” Completing the program is Edson Scheid’s own arrangement for solo violin of Mozart’s Rondo from his Duo in G Major for violin and viola, KV 423. Free parking and reception plus a chance to meet the artist are all included with your ticket. Our venue is intimate, warm, and inviting. You'll hear and see this music up close and personal with fewer than 200 guests. Don't miss your chance to hear Edson Scheid in his first appearance in Charlotte!
