North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Ted Budd is leaning into his support for abortion restrictions and his allegiance to former President Donald Trump as Democrats fight for an elusive victory in the Southern swing state. Budd is set to appear alongside Trump on Friday night at a rally in Wilmington.
Public records show Mark Meadows, the former Republican congressman and Trump chief of staff, is registered to vote in two states, including North Carolina, where he listed a mobile home he did not own — and may never have visited — as his legal residence weeks before casting a ballot in the 2020 election.
Former President Donald Trump is pushing Republicans to support those candidates who share his values in next year’s midterm elections. Trump spoke to hundreds of Republicans gathered for the North Carolina GOP convention, where he endorsed Rep. Ted Budd in the 2022 U.S. Senate race.
