Wake County Judge Paul Ridgeway has declined Chris Anglin’s request for a temporary restraining order that would have forced the North Carolina Republican Party to share voter data with him.
Melissa Boughton of NC Policy Watch reported that Anglin lost in court Tuesday.
Anglin is one of 10 Republicans running in the 9th Congressional District Republican primary on May 4. He is opposed to President Trump and says the Republican Party has lost its way.
Anglin has been a Democrat in the past, and switched his party registration last summer to run for a seat on the North Carolina Supreme Court. Anglin received 16 percent of the vote, and Republican leaders believe that Anglin’s presence on the ballot helped Democrat Anita Earls defeat incumbent Barbara Jackson.
Anglin has been denied access to GOP voter databases, and has been barred from some events, including a meeting last month of Mecklenburg County Republicans.
