Police have made arrests in two homicides in Charlotte earlier this year.

Police in Charlotte are investigating after a jogger discovered a man's body in east Charlotte early Thursday morning.

Jose Mario Chicas, 51, was found on the 1900 block of Milton Road. Police have not released the manner in which he died, though the death is being investigated as a homicide.

Police are investigating a homicide that occurred in northwest Charlotte Sunday night.

A woman police say was involved in the shooting death of a man in northwest Charlotte in December 2017 surrendered Monday morning.

A 31-year-old Charlotte man has been charged with shooting his girlfriend to death at an apartment in southwest Charlotte early Thursday.

Police have arrested a third teenager in the fatal shooting of a man in east Charlotte Friday afternoon.

CMPD said in a statement Monday afternoon that it has arrested another unnamed 15-year-old in the murder of Eskinder Dawit Asefaw, 26. 

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred in east Charlotte on Friday. Eskinder Dawit Asefaw, 26, died at Carolinas Medical Center Saturday morning from gunshot wounds, CMPD said in a statement. His family has been notified of his death.

A man was found dead in a wooded area near Rhyne Station Road in west Charlotte Friday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police have identified him as 20-year-old Jacob Hernandez. His body was uncovered Friday by a team of officers with help from a police canine.

Charlotte police say a woman was shot and killed near an apartment complex in east Charlotte Tuesday morning in what they believe to be an armed robbery.

A man has been found shot dead inside a vehicle in southwest Charlotte today. Police say the shooting happened on the 8100 block of South Tryon Street around 11:50 this morning. Media outlets report the scene is the parking lot of a Panera Bread. The man’s identity has not been released, and police say they're searching the area for witnesses.
