Duke Lacrosse Accuser Charged With Stabbing Boyfriend
The woman who falsely claimed she was raped by Duke lacrosse players five years ago has been accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the chest. Durham police say 32-year-old Crystal Mangum was arrested early Sunday morning several hours after the stabbing that seriously injured her 46-year-old boyfriend, according the News & Observer. Investigators said an argument led to the stabbing. Mangum is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. She was convicted in December of several misdemeanor charges, including child abuse, in a fire that nearly destroyed her home. In that case, the News & Observer reports, police said Magnum slashed her boyfriend's tires, smashed his windshield with a vacuum cleaner and set fire to clothes in a bathtub while her three children were in her apartment. A felony arson charge was dropped.
