The Case For Mars

The Case For Mars As the NASA Shuttle program comes to an end, scientists at NASA and elsewhere promise that research in space will continue. Dr. Robert Zubrin, an aerospace engineer, is hoping that these efforts will include and perhaps be dominated by the exploration and eventual colonization of Earth's neighbor, Mars. Zubrin has researched what is known about Mars and has come up with proposals for exploration, base building, settlement and for terraforming (modifying the atmosphere to make it more earth-like) of the Red Planet, and doing it in an economically viable way. He joins us to talk about the science and economics of going to Mars. Guest Dr. Robert Zubrin - Aerospace engineer and author. He's an advocate for the manned exploration and eventual colonization of Mars. He's formerly a staff engineer at Lockheed Martin Astronautics and is now president of his own company, Pioneer Astronautics. Add and read comments
