Rock Star Violinist Mark Wood When you think of a classically trained violinist, chances are, you don't picture Mark Wood. He's more rock star than classical musician, and the electric violin he invented, the Viper, is used in the music of stars like Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood and more. He was an original member of the Trans Siberian Orchestra, and now, Mark Wood, along with his wife and son, devote much of their time to inspire young musicians in schools across America to get excited about music. Mark Wood is in the Charlotte area this week working with students in Shelby and he stops by to talk with us about music education, how rock and roll and the violin go together, and play some music. Guests Mark Wood - Violinist, Emmy-winning composer, music education advocate and creator of the Electrify Your Strings Program (also an original member of the Trans Siberian Orchestra).
