Jazz is a communal music, where musicians incorporate call and response, and bounce ideas off of each other. This is the essence of jazz music. So a public jam session is simply a musical get-together where musicians come together to play jazz standards. Everyone is invited. Join in the experience. Make Music Day is a live, free musical celebration on June 21, the longest day of the year, with concerts on streets, sidewalks, and parks across the city, and over 1000 cities worldwide.
