Virtual Adult Mental Health First Aid

This training is being offered through ZOOM and will be virtual. To be registered for this training course, you must live or work in Mecklenburg or Cabarrus (North Carolina) counties as this grant is funding those in these counties. You must also be at least 18 years of age, as the MHFA training focuses on adults who work/interact with youth ages 6-18. Mental Health First Aid is a free course, thanks to generous 2021-2022 funding from the Mecklenburg County ABC Board and the Mecklenburg County Community Services Grant. If you do not live or work within these counties, please register for one of our fee-based courses on our website. Deadline: Registration for this course will be closed on Friday, November 26, 2021 to allow time for completion of the self-guided portion of MHFA. Once registered for MHFA Adult virtual training you will receive specific instructions on how to complete the REQUIRED 2-hour, online, self-directed course pre-work. NOTE: The 2-hour pre-work MUST be completed 72 hours prior to the 7 hour Instructor-led portion or you will not be able to take the second portion of the course on December 11, 2021. (Pre-work completion deadline is 12/07/2021) INSTRUCTOR-LED COURSE: Thursday, December 11, 2021 INSTRUCTOR-LED COURSE TIMEFRAME: 9:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. Adult Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance abuse challenges. This course is delivered by certified Mental Health First Aid USA instructors on the MHA staff. Sessions will be held virtually through ZOOM. NOTE: A minimum of eight (8) registrants required for each course. Courses with fewer than 8 registered participants 48 hours prior to course date will be cancelled. Registrants will be notified by email of any class cancellation.
