Youth Orchestra Concert with Mark and Maggie O'Connor
Mark O'Connor, Grammy award winning artist and fiddling champion, will perform two of his works with the Youth Orchestras of Charlotte. The YOC and Maggie O'Connor (on fiddle and vocals) will join him for a World Premiere of an arrangement of Stevie Wonder's song Love's in Need. The YOC will also join the two fiddlers for Mark's Strings and Threads Suite, a celebration of American fiddle music arranged for orchestra. In addition, the YOC will offer a program of American music, including works by Aaron Copland, John Williams, Leonard Bernstein, and William Grant Still.
