President Barack Obama plans to visit Charlotte next Friday and talk about the economy. WFAE's Julie Rose reports: The last time President Obama came to Charlotte was the eve of his election victory in November 2008. The economy was on his mind then, too. "You job, your savings, you economic security, your house, they are now at risk," said then candidate Barack Obama at a rally Uptown. "So we're gonna have to work quickly to resolve this crisis, to avert an even broader economic catastrophe." Two weeks ago, Mayor Anthony Foxx and a group of business leaders from Charlotte went to the White House to talk about the region's economic challenges. Now, a White House spokesman says President Obama will come to Charlotte next Friday, though details have not been released.
