Bloomberg reports here that an Iowa assistant attorney general is accusing Bank of America of trying to undermine negotiations for a nationwide settlement with banks over their foreclosure practices. The story is based on two unidentified sources who Bloomberg says are familiar with the settlement talks, which are being led by Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller. According to one of the sources, Bloomberg reports "the bank tried to get attorneys general to break away from those supporting the proposed accord, Iowa Assistant Attorney General Patrick Madigan said during a recent conference call." Madigan also reportedly told those on the conference call that BofA was trying to disrupt negotiations with a "divide-and-conquer" strategy. Read the rest of the Bloomberg report here.
