7th-Grader Faces Kidnapping, Firearms Charges
A Northeast Middle School student faces kidnapping and firearms charges. Police say the student had a gun and demanded a bus driver take him somewhere else. The incident occurred Monday afternoon. The bus driver, Evans Okoduwa, persuaded the 7th-grader to hand over the gun. The driver dropped off the student, and drove to another location to call police. In the meantime, another student gave Okoduwa a gun. The firearm was given to him by the student now charged with eight counts of kidnapping and two counts of bringing a firearm to school, according to CMPD. The suspect's name has not been released because he's a juvenile. He's at the regional juvenile detention center.
