UNCC International Students Temporarily Barred From Classes At Center City Campus
UNC Charlotte notified about one hundred international students this week that they can't attend classes at the school's Center City campus for the rest of the semester. The university is asking professors and students with F-1 visas to come up with another arrangement to make sure they can complete the last three weeks of the school year. University spokesman John Bland says the temporary reassignment is required by the federal Student and Exchange Visitor Program. The program must separately certify the new Center City campus to take international students, even though UNC Charlotte's main campus already can. That campus opened last fall. University officials say international students can attend classes at the uptown campus this summer. They don't expect fall classes will be affected.
