Hayes: Comments About Liberals 'Came Out Completely Wrong'
Republican Congressman Robin Hayes says the comments he made about liberals at a John McCain rally this weekend "came out completely wrong." Speaking before a crowd of 7,000 in Concord, Hayes urged people to keep a kind tone in this election season and not say anything that could be distorted. A few minutes later, referring to Sarah Palin he said. "Liberals hate real Americans that work and accomplish and achieve and believe in God. That's a great comparison." In a written statement, Hayes said as a conservative he has a strong difference of opinion with liberals about the future of our nation, but this was the wrong way to get that opinion across. Hayes is being challenged for re-election by Democrat Larry Kissell.
