'Green' Building And Redevelopment

Sep 14, 2015

“Green” building and development used to be practiced only by those concerned about the environment but today, it makes great business sense. Energy efficiency and environmentally conscious construction is becoming the norm and designers, developers and builders are being recognized for it. In fact, one organization is handing out awards for this region this week and we will take a closer look at what’s being done here, by whom and assess its impact.

Emily Scofield - Executive Director of the North Carolina chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council

Gill Holland - developer, filmmaker and "green development" activist. Raised in Davidson, he now lives in Louisville, Kentucky, where he has done several projects to help revitalize old neighborhoods

Scott Tew - leader of the Center for Energy Efficiency & Sustainability at Ingersoll Rand corporation in Davidson

  • Gill Holland speaks Friday night at the Green Gala for the USGBCNC. More information.
