PT drifts off the beaten path of the standard repertoire with another "Classical Detour." This time around, it's three compelling performances by three separate pianists. Pedja Muzijevic plays a pair of Balkan Dances by Marko Tajcevic at the Freer Gallery in Washington, DC. Also at the Freer, Margaret Leng Tan plays the U.S. premiere of Eric Griswold's arrangement of a traditional Chinese tune, called "Little Sister Loves a Hard-working Man." And Jon Kimura Parker is at Piano Festival Northwest in Portland to play the evocative "China Gates," by John Adams.
