The office of South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has been deleting emails between staffers because of limited storage space on servers, and because the messages are not considered important. In an article headlined Killing emails, cheating history?, The State newspaper reports it discovered the emails were being deleted after a Freedom of Information Act request. A lawyer for the South Carolina Press Association says emails between staffers in the governor's office are public records and should be kept. Haley's office does keep all emails she sends to the public.
