SC Gov Blitzes National Media For New Book
Governor Nikki Haley is on an extensive media tour this week promoting her new memoir "Can't Is Not An Option." She's already appeared on Good Morning America, Fox and Friends, Nightline and The View. Tonight she'll be a guest on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report. Time and People Magazine have booked interviews with Haley and USA Today has a big spread on her book. "Can't Is Not An Option" apparently fleshes out many of the anecdotes Haley cited often during her 2010 campaign for governor, including being disqualified from the Wee Miss Bamberg competition as a youngster because she was neither black nor white. The State newspaper notes Haley's book publicity blitz "doesn't leave much time for governing" this week. Her public schedule lists only one activity - a family celebration Saturday on Daniel Island. "But Haley is not the only politician getting away from Columbia this week," adds The State. "Both the state Senate and S.C. House are on furlough. The House also is on furlough next week as well."
