Gov. Josh Stein announced Monday that Genentech, one of the world’s premier biotechnology companies, will invest $700 million to build a new manufacturing plant in Holly Springs — southeast of Raleigh — creating 400 jobs.
The average salary for the new positions will be $119,833, compared with an average wage in Wake County of $76,643.
The governor’s office said the new positions will bring an annual payroll impact to the community of more than $50 million.
