Part One: Blue Door at Actor's Theatre Actor's Theatre is presenting Blue Door this month. It's a play that explores the African American experience through the eyes of a math Professor navigating the path between his own identity as a black man and assimilating in the scholarly world of his white peers. We'll meet the lead actor and the director of the play. Ella is set on one single day in 1966 and features more than a dozen of Fitzgerald's greatest hits. We'll meet the actress who created the role of Ella and the conceiver of this show and talk about the lasting popularity, the myth and the music of Ella Fitzgerald.
