Gay Marriage Amendment


Gay Marriage Amendment The North Carolina General Assembly has just voted to place an amendment banning gay marriage on a ballot for voters next May. The state already has a law on the books defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman, but House and Senate Republicans, with the support of a few conservative Democrats, have decided that an amendment to the state constitution is needed to preserve the institution of marriage. We take a look at the amendment proposal and the reasons that our guests say voters should accept or repeal it.
