New School Board Leadership For CMS A lot has changed with the election of the new Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board this past fall. In November, several new members were elected to the Board, and just before the end of 2011, the Board elected two of those new members to head the Board. Ericka Ellis-Stewart and Mary McCray will join us. They're the new Chair and Vice Chair of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board, and will talk about the district's challenges, which did NOT change with the new leadership. We'll find out their plans for finding a new Superintendent, finding, rewarding, and retaining top quality teachers, giving area kids a good education and finding the right balance in testing students.
