Charlotte Talks Midterm Election Special Oct. 23

Charlotte Talks Election Special 2018

With the midterm election only weeks away, Mike Collins will preview the races in a Charlotte Talks Midterm Election Special, live at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at the Booth Playhouse in Founders Hall.

The Charlotte area is home to tossup U.S. House races that could decide control of Congress and determine how the next two years of the Trump presidency play out. Voters will also determine if the Republican supermajority in the North Carolina General Assembly remains intact after two years of divided government that often led to court fights with the Democratic governor.

Robin Hayes, chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party, and Wayne Goodwin, chairman of the North Carolina Democratic Party, will join Sarah Reidy-Jones, vice-chair of the Mecklenburg County Republican Party, Connie Green-Johnson, president of the Democratic Women of Mecklenburg County, and Catawba College political science professor Dr. Michael Bitzer.
