Many people may not realize that the images on static billboards are printed on giant swaths of vinyl material. ArtPop Street Gallery, diverts 13,000+ square feet of vinyl from landfills every year.
Upcycling the billboard vinyl into fashion, framed art, tote bags and more.
Our Upcycled Fashion show supports both sustainability and local artists small businesses.
The 12 Charlotte regional artists involved are from a variety of media backgrounds: textile, multi-media, digital, painting and more.
ArtPop commissioned these artists to transform the billboard vinyl into pieces that the models walk the catwalk in!
ArtPop turns interstate highways and other common areas into outdoor art galleries throughout the Charlotte region and across the country too. The nonprofit organization's mission is to connect local artists with billboard advertising and other media companies who showcase their art. This promotes artists and offers the community thought-provoking and inspirational creations that everyone can enjoy – for free! We have many ways we support and showcase local artists, delivering on mission 365 days a year. We showcase and support artists of the 13 county greater Charlotte Region.
