Arts at the Abbey presents Allan Ware, clarinet, in concert on March 19, 2024.
North Carolina native Allan Ware returns with music from the early days of the clarinet (1780s) to the present day. Ware, who lives in Germany, will be featured in works by Mozart and Mozart’s favorite clarinetist Anton Stadler as well as other works by clarinets who wrote for themselves including Meyerbeer, Lefèvre, Cahuzac. The program also includes Three Etudes on themes of Gershwin.
The concert is March 19, 2024, in the Abbey Basilica, 100 Belmont-Mt. Holly Rd, Belmont NC 28012 at 8:00 PM. Admission is free though donations will be gladly accepted.
