The majesty of pre-revolutionary France - think the Palace of Versailles and the opulence of the Sun King, Louis XIV - was the Age of Absolutism, with France at the height of its military power and artistic influence. The music of the period was of equal stature: it comes to life in this splendid musical offering, North Carolina’s renowned early music orchestra collaborates with Queens University’s internationally award-winning choir on a program of masterpieces from the French Baroque, including Charpentier’s exquisite Messe de Minuit pour Noel.
