Opening Ceremony - Chop Shop: We Are Here
Opening Ceremony - Chop Shop: We Are Here
Join us for an enlightening evening of art, culture, and community as we launch the Gantt's third biennial, Chop Shop: We Are Here! This dynamic exhibition showcases powerful works in drawing, painting, and sculpture, exploring racial consciousness and identity.
Founded during the 2020 pandemic, the Chop Shop Artists Collective – a group of Black and Brown male artists – emerged from a need for connection, conversation, and healing. In the wake of George Floyd's murder, these artists turned to one another and their art, fostering community through shared experiences and bold expression.
Explore the artwork, meet the visionary artists, enjoy a live panel discussion, and celebrate creativity, resilience, and unity. Commemorate this exhibit with the official publication, Chop Shop: We Are Here, available for purchase.
