Discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics at STEAM On the Wing & On the Water. Join Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation's Quest Nature Center and the Carolina Raptor Center at Latta Nature Preserve on Saturday, April 13, from 10 AM to 3 PM, kicking off the Centennial Celebration for 100 years of Mountain Island Lake.
This free event is designed for all ages, offering an immersive experience in STEAM disciplines. Taking place at Latta Nature Preserve, the event features two components:
At the Carolina Raptor Center, explore STEAM On the Wing with free access to the Raptor Trail, a zoo highlighting birds of prey and home to more than 30 avian ambassadors. Engage with community partners to learn about wildlife conservation.
At Quest Nature Center, Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation hosts STEAM On the Water. Dive into aquatic ecology with local organizations, unraveling the science and secrets beneath the water.
