UNC Charlotte Personally Speaking presents, The Biopolitics of Intellectual Property: Regulating Innovation and Personhood in the Information Age
Intellectual property (IP) — as expressed in copyrights, patents, and trademarks — are powerful assets for individuals, companies, and organizations. The increasing value of such assets can spur moral and ethical conflicts, and even lead to legal disputes. IP policy thus has powerful implications for public welfare and legal precedent. Presented by Gordon Hull, Ph.D., professor in the Department of Philosophy at UNC Charlotte and a core faculty member in the Public Policy Ph.D. program.
Reception at 6 p.m.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
