On this program, rising star Edson Scheid, violin plays music by the legendary Italian virtuoso violinist Nicolò Paganini, as well as works by musicians who were influenced by him, including H. W. Ernst, who was considered by many in the mid-19th Century to be the “next Paganini,” and Flausino Vale, nicknamed the “Brazilian Paganini.” Completing the program is Edson Scheid’s own arrangement for solo violin of Mozart’s Rondo from his Duo in G Major for violin and viola, KV 423. Free parking and reception plus a chance to meet the artist are all included with your ticket. Our venue is intimate, warm, and inviting. You'll hear and see this music up close and personal with fewer than 200 guests. Don't miss your chance to hear Edson Scheid in his first appearance in Charlotte!

The majesty of pre-revolutionary France - think the Palace of Versailles and the opulence of the Sun King, Louis XIV - was the Age of Absolutism, with France at the height of its military power and artistic influence. The music of the period was of equal stature: it comes to life in this splendid musical offering, North Carolina’s renowned early music orchestra collaborates with Queens University’s internationally award-winning choir on a program of masterpieces from the French Baroque, including Charpentier’s exquisite Messe de Minuit pour Noel.
