NACA, a non-profit that helps homeowners avoid foreclosure, has announced its hiring 1,014 people over the next five years to staff its Charlotte office. The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America plans to hire 550 of those workers right away to help homeowners re-structure mortgages across the country. NACA is vocal in its opposition to high risk loans issued by banks. The group has become a leader in helping people deal with mortgages they can't afford. NACA's CEO Bruce Marks says that's what the Charlotte employees will do. "The jobs we're doing are home save counselors and that means there are people calling from around the country who will be getting a counseling session here to get their mortgage re-structured," explains Marks. Marks says NACA chose Charlotte in part because of the number of workers in the financial services industry. The group will receive a $1,000,000 grant from the state that will help cover the salaries of new employees for the first two months. NACA will be holding a job fair tomorrow and Saturday at its office in Charlotte. Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America Job Fair 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. Friday & Saturday June 12th and 13th NACA Counseling Center, 2nd Floor of 5855 Executive Center Drive, Charlotte
