More unsavory details are surfacing about Governor Mark Sanford's affair with his Argentinian mistress. Today he told the Associated Press that he met her once more than previously disclosed. WFAE's Julie Rose reports. Political insiders say the thing most likely to force Governor Mark Sanford out of office will be the disclosure of more dirty secrets. The latest revelation came in an interview with the Associated Press today when Sanford admitted that he "crossed lines" with a handful of women other than his mistress, but never had sex with them. Sanford also told the AP he had five encounters with the woman he visited in Argentina two weeks ago - including three in New York. Two of those were romantic getaways. A third was in the company of a spiritual advisor for the purpose of breaking up. Sanford originally admitted to meeting his mistress only four times. He also tells the AP his Argentine mistress is his soul mate, but he trying to fall back in love with his wife. In response, South Carolina Republican Party Chairwoman raised doubts about Sanford's ability to lead. "The governor's new revelations are not only troubling but raise new questions about whether he can regain public trust and confidence. I remain hopeful that the first family can be reunited and trust can be restored. In the short-term, I am focused on working with Republicans to move South Carolina forward," Floyd said in a prepared statement. In light of Sanford's disclosure of additional travel, the South Carolina attorney general has requested a preliminary review of all the Governor's travel records to determine if any laws have been broken or state funds misused. Sanford issued a statement saying he is pleased that the attorney general will look into the matter. He says no public money was ever used to quote "advance my admitted unfaithfulness." However, he will cooperate fully with the investigation in hopes of putting that speculation to rest.
