Pug performs his song, "Not So Sure." Video: Marshall Terry & Tanner Latham Joe Pug is a singer-songwriter who often gets compared to other young troubadours like Josh Ritter and Justin Townes Earle, (both friends of Pug's). He got his start a few years ago in Chicago, working as a carpenter by day and writing songs at night. Pug recorded his first EP Nation of Heat in a studio after hours whenever other artists would cancel. Pug released his second full-length album, The Great Despiser, this spring. He was recently in Charlotte on tour for the album and stopped by WFAE to talk about songwriting, dropping out of school to follow his passion, and giving his songs away for free. In the video, Pug performs his song, "Not So Sure." You can hear excerpts from our interview here.
