Strong or severe thunderstorms are moving across parts of the Charlotte region Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning effective until 4:15 p.m. for Gaston County, and parts of Mecklenburg, Lincoln, Cleveland, and York counties.
The weather service said the storm could cause minor hail damage and bring wind gusts of up to 60 miles per hour.
Much of the Charlotte region is under a severe thunderstorm watch, with damaging storms possible until 10 p.m.
