A 16-year old student was shot and killed by a fellow student at Butler High School in Matthews Monday morning. WFAE Reporter Jessa O'Connor tells host Mike Collins what we know.

A 16-year old Butler High School freshman has been charged with first-degree murder after the shooting death of a fellow Butler High School student. The shooting occurred in the hallway at the Matthews school around 7 a.m. Monday. 

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools Superintendent Clayton Wilcox is taking a harder look at security in the aftermath of the tragic shooting, and WFAE's Jessa O'Connor sits down with Charlotte Talks host Mike Collins to talk about what we know about the shooting, about security at the school, about what led to the incident and how students and parents are reacting.
