Despite Violence, Bush Backs January Iraqi Vote

President Bush announced Wednesday that Iraqi elections should go forward in January, despite security concerns and an upturn in insurgent attacks. NPR's Alex Chadwick and Los Angeles Times reporter Alissa Rubin discuss one hazard in particular -- a major Baghdad road where U.S. forces have sustained high casualties, and which is now widely considered too dangerous for travel.
