Attorneys for a Charlotte murder defendant want video that was shot of the murder scene. The video was shot by the A&E program The First 48 for a reality TV show. The program follows homicide detectives in cooperation with CMPD. Attorneys for Jonathan Fitzgerald, who is accused of stabbing Oscar Chavez to death in August, say they should have access to 20 hours of raw video. First 48 refused to give up the video. The dispute landed in court on Friday. WSOC-TV reports that CMPD Police Chief Rodney Monroe testified for more than two hours.
