Rhetoric Between Perdue, Lawmakers Gets Personal

If you are still under that impression that Gov. Perdue and Republican lawmakers are still in a honeymoon period, think again. The News & Observer reports the honeymoon is over. Just like Democrats and Republicans in Congress, Perdue and Republican leaders had dueling news conferences today. In Raleigh, Perdue said Republicans aren't focused on jobs. "I don't mean to come across as the adult in the room," Perdue said, "but somebody has to be the adult in the room." Senate President Phil Berger calls her comments, and a recent jobs tour a "diversion from focusing on the failed policies that got us to this point. It appears to me that the one job that Governor Perdue is worried about is her own. What we are looking at is her effort to raise money for her re-election." Click here to read more in the N&O.
