Judge Upholds Firing Of Trooper Who Had Sex In Cruiser

Memo to state troopers: You can get fired for having sex in a police cruiser at a patrol station while on duty. That's what trooper Monty Poarch did in 2003. He was fired two months later. Ever since, Poarch has been trying to get his job back. He argues that he was treated unfairly because other troopers kept their jobs despite similar or worse behavior. A judge in Wake County has ruled that Poarch is entitled two months back pay, but upheld his firing. The News & Observer has the story here.
